Gary Raymond Goforth, age 58, of Chapel Hill, TN passed away Thursday, August 02, 2018 at his residence. He was a native of Ohio, employed with General Motors in Spring Hill, TN where he served as a UAW Leader/Zone Committeeman. He was also a member of UAW Local 1853 in Spring Hill, TN, UAW Local 1005, Holiness Assembly Church and Macedonia Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Joann Smith Goforth.
He is survived by wife: Julie Rapson Goforth, Lewisburg, TN; one son: Brock Ryan Goforth, Summertown, TN; one brother: Roy Houston Goforth (Rhonda), Brook Park, OH; one sister: Rhonda B. Goforth, Youngstown, OH
Funeral services for Gary Raymond Goforth were conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2018, with Larry Spears officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN. Those serving as pallbearers were: Joey Goforth, Josh Goforth, Bryce Wood, Josh Jones, Keith Jones, Donald Clark. Family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or UAW Local 1853 Veterans Committee, 125 Stephen P.
