Vella B. Gillespie

Vella B. Gillespie, age 80, of Five Points, TN passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at her residence.

She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from the Lawrence County Circuit Court Clerk Office, owner and operator of Gillespie Garbage Service, and a member of Five Points Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Beatrice Jenkins Ezell; her husband: Glynn Gillespie; one great-granddaughter: Lillian Gillespie; one brother: Clayton Ezell; and two sisters: Kerene Box and Mina Belle Gillespie.

She is survived by two sons: Tim Gillespie, and Terry Gillespie (Donna), both of Five Points, TN; six grandchildren: Stephanie Hunt (Michael), Leoma, TN, Ben Laws, Five Points, TN, Brooklyn Roden (Rodney), Hohenwald, TN, Lucas Gillespie (Sarah), Piney Community, Trevor Gillespie (Heather), Five Points, TN, Taylor Gillespie (Alex), Five Points, TN; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; one great-great-grandchild; four sisters: Reva Lee, Five Points, TN, Arlene Richardson, Rogersville, AL, Iris Jean Durham, Franklin, TN, Thelma Elliott, Nashville, TN; two brothers: Etral Ezell, UT, Laris Ezell, Dandridge, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Vella B. Gillespie were conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018, with Terrell Lee and Stephanie Hunt officiating.  Interment followed at Freeman-Blooming Grove Cemetery in Five Points, TN.  Family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
