Billy Ray Phillips, age 79, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN.
He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a farmer, a journeyman wireman electrician, and retired warehouse manager from M. L. Sandy Lumber Sales. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 558, Buffalo Road Market Coffee Drinkers, and First Baptist Church of Ethridge. Mr. Phillips served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Reserve.
He was preceded in death by his parents: W. O. “Shorty” and Eunice Mashburn Phillips.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Brenda B. Phillips of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter: Amanda Lynn Perry (Jason) of Lawrenceburg, TN; three grandchildren: Colton Perry, Lilah Perry, and Kara Perry; three brothers: Harold Phillips of Ringgold, GA, Jim Phillips (Brenda) of Killen, AL, and Kenneth Phillips (Jane) of Florence, AL; sister-in-love: Angela Phillips Byers of Pensacola, FL; two special grandchildren: Christin Guerrero and Elisa Blake; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Billy Ray Phillips were conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, with Mike Wimberly and Ronald Mashburn officiating. Interment followed at Kidd Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN with full military honors. Neal Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
