Ruby Clayton, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
She was a native of Westpoint, TN, retired from Murray Ohio and a member of OK Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener, animal lover, and loved her family, church family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Stanford Joe and Maude Ella Simms Clayton; four sisters: Lillian Prince, Alpha Eckert, Grace Gobbell and Margie Stockard; and six brothers: Orville Clayton, Wilburn Clayton, Bill Clayton, Clifford Clayton, Ernest Clayton, and Wiley Clayton.
She is survived by one sister: Cleo Keaton of Lawrenceburg, TN; six nieces; ten nephews; loving neighbors and extended family: Jody and Pat Mayfield; and her loving dogs and cats which she called her children.
Funeral services for Ruby Clayton were conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, with Arnold Brown officiating. Interment followed at Rochell Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN. Family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or OK Baptist Church.
