Tressie Jane Carrigan Desmond, age 96, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.
She was a native of Stamford, TX, a homemaker, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg. She also was a member of St. Mary Visitation of the Catholic Church and the American Iris Society in Huntsville, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Arthur and Bessie Bell Pennell Carrigan; her husband: Francis Justin Desmond; one sister: Louise Carrigan Bridges and her husband Ronald ; and six brothers: Frederick Carrigan, Francis Carrigan, James Carrigan and wife Bonnie, Royce Carrigan and wife Emma, and Theodore Carrigan and wife Jane.
She is survived by one daughter: Anne Desmond Scott (Faber) of Lawrenceburg, TN; two granddaughters: Jane Adele Scott of Murfreesboro, TN and Tressie Marie Dubois (Grayson) of Antioch, TN; one great-grandchild: Isaac Dubois of Antioch, TN; one brother: John Carrigan of Washington; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass for Tressie Jane Carrigan Desmond was conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lawrenceburg at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019, with Father Joseph Mundakal officiating. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. Family requests memorials be made to the Lawrence County Food Bank. Neal Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
