James “Joe” Tomlinson
James “Joe” Tomlinson, age 60, a resident of Lawrenceburg, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Born on November 17, 1958 in Elizabeth Town, KY, James was the son of Eva Frances “Grissham” Staggs and the late James Robert Tomlinson. He loved building motorcycles and working on engines. He was a self-made mechanic who loved restoring vehicles. He also enjoyed fighting chickens and was an excellent sheet rock hanger.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother: Gordon Berry Tomlinson.
He is survived by his mother: Eva Staggs of Lawrenceburg; brothers: Douglas and Wayne Tomlinson; nephews: Rob and Steven, Zepplin Woods, Johnathan Tomlinson, and Bryan Tomlinson of Lawrenceburg; step-brothers: Leland (Peggy) Staggs, and Gene (Gail) Staggs; step-sister: Joane (Norm) Keltner; nieces: Eva Tomlinson, Regan Huffines, Jessica Tomlinson, Tessa Tomlinson, Victoria Tomlinson and Kerri Tomlinson. Also, a special four-year-old little man named Benson Glenn of Lawrenceburg.
Funeral services for James “Joe” Tomlinson will be held today, Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at County Line Church of Christ in Lawrence County with John Gibbs officiating. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Spann Cemetery in Lawrence County.
