Oscar Andy Benefield, age 84, of Summertown, TN passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at his residence.
He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from General Electric, and a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. Mr. Benefield served his country in the Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents: O. J. and Lorene Bates Benefield; two sisters: Betty Bryant and Nell Bryant; and one granddaughter: Piper Benefield.
He is survived by his wife: Sarah Gaynell Benefield of Summertown, TN; four children: Nickie Oscar Benefield of Shepherdsville, KY, Tammy Gay Slonaker (Randy) and Terry Andy Benefield (Shelia) both of Summertown, TN and Jason Benefield (Lori) of Rockvale, TN; four brothers: Mack Benefield and Jack Benefield, both of Summertown, TN, Ed Benefield of Hendersonville, TN and Ronnie Benefield of Rogersville, AL; three sisters: Kathleen Davenport and Jane Davenport, both of Summertown, TN and Annie Benefield of Cornville, AZ; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Oscar Andy Benefield were conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 with Greg Ivey officiating. Interment followed at Chapel Grove Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN. Neal Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. Condolences may be sent by way of: www.nealfuneralhome.net.
