Reta E. Rodgers
Reta E. Rodgers, 65, of Chattanooga passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 after a seven-year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a Volunteer with Ladies of Charity. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a BS in Business Administration. She had been employed with Erlanger Hospital and retired as Human Resources Director after 23 years of service. Reta was also a member of Chattanooga Newcomers and the PEO Sisterhood. She was a very compassionate and loving individual and had a great love for her family, putting others before herself at all times.
She was preceded in death by her father: Bernard Ellis.
She is survived by her husband: Rex Rodgers; daughter: Jennifer Rodgers; son: Brandon (Betsey) Rodgers; grandchildren: John Henry Rodgers, Jude Rodgers, Noah Rodgers and Nicholas Rodgers; mother: Dortha Ellis; brother: Rickey (Jan) Ellis; sister: Renee (Ronnie) Ray; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass for Reta E. Rodgers was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick and Father Mike Creson officiating.
