Alvin Beckham, Jr., was born March 9, 1930 in Wayne County , TN, the son of the late Alvin and Ima Elizabeth Watson Beckham.
He was united in marriage to Epsie L. Carter Flippo on July 2, 1995. He was a laborer at Murray Ohio, a proud Army Veteran, and a member of Houston Baptist Church. He departed this life on November 26, 2019 in Lawrenceburg, TN at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 17 days.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Helen Beckham; and a step-son: Larry Flippo.
He is survived by his wife: Epsie L. Beckham of Lawrenceburg, TN; two step-sons: Willie Flippo and wife Edith of Loretto, TN, Jerry Flippo and wife Joy of Ethridge, TN; two brothers: Billy Ray Beckham of Waynesboro, TN, Glen Beckham of Collinwood, TN; three sisters: Betty Jean Sherrill and wife Will of Waynesboro, TN, Kathryn Dement and husband Douglas of Olive Hill, TN, Shirley Robinson and husband Doyle of Gallatin, TN; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Alvin Beckham, Jr., were held Friday, November 29, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN, with Jerry Golden and David Miller officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Hebron Cemetery at Collinwood, TN.
