James Morgan “Bud” Abbott, Sr.
James Morgan “Bud” Abbott, Sr., age 89, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at NHC Healthcare of Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN.
He was a native of Lincoln County, TN, former state trooper, former owner of Crockett Bowling Alley, the Bologna Palace and Abbott’s Septic Tank Service, and a member of Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church.  Mr. Abbott served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents: C. G. and Birdie Mae Thompson Abbott; and one grandson: Brad Abbott.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Joann Stotser Abbott of Lawrenceburg, TN; one son: Jim Abbott of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter: Lisa Abbott Pope (Roger) of  Florence, AL; two grandsons: Chris Abbott (April) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Alex Pope (Olivia) of Athens, AL; one granddaughter: Caroline Pope of Florence, AL; and four great-grandchildren: Alyxandrya McClain, Ryder Stone, Caydence Abbott, and Sawyer Pope.
Funeral services FOR James Morgan “Bud” Abbott, Sr., were conducted at Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019, with Kevin Marston officiating. Interment followed at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors. Neal Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
