Estes Walker “Bud” Taylor
Estes Walker “Bud” Taylor, husband of Regina Taylor, former Assessor of Property of Lawrence County, and a resident of Ethridge, passed away on his 77 birthday, Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital.
Born on December 17, 1942 in Lawrence County, Bud was the son of the late Estes Walker Taylor, Sr. and the late Lucy Thomas Taylor. He worked for the Tennessee State Comptroller Office Division of Property Assessment and was the Lawrence County Assessor of Property, all while still farming on the side. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg. Bud was a doting father, grandfather and great grandfather who was a great storyteller and enjoyed entertaining guests and congregating with others.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Rick Grant Taylor; grandson: Taylor Cope; brother: J.T. Taylor; and sister: Mable Newton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Tiffany Taylor (Michael Doan) Cope of Ethridge; sisters: Carol Taylor of Summertown, Patricia Brown of Lawrenceburg, Esteleen Smith of Liberty Grove; granddaughter in law: widow of Taylor Cope: Anni Donnert; grandson: Brady (Hillary Ray) Cope; great granddaughter: Celina Cope; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation was held Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at The Barn at Taylor’s View in Ethridge, TN. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
