Robert E. Parker of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg.
He was born in Jackson, TN on August 17, 1937 to Robert L. and Lallie M. Eubanks Parker. He was a 1955 graduate of Northside High School in Jackson. He served in the Tennessee Army National Guard and was retired from Suntrust Bank, Lawrenceburg. He was an active member of Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg Golf and Country Club, and also a member of various civic organizations. He enjoyed golf, golf outings with his son/friends and singing, especially in the Lawrence County Oratorical Society’s Christmas Pops and with the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club’s K-Notes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Scott Parker; grandson: Garrison Parker; sisters: Margaret Travis, Joyce Burt, Linda Parker, Amy Jowers; and brother: David Parker.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years: Sylvia Phillips Parker; daughter: Kelly Parker Rowland (Bill) of Clinton, TN; daughter-in-law: Lisa Fails Parker; and granddaughter: Grace Parker, both of Kerrville, TX; and grand-dog: Coco Rowland.  Siblings surviving include: Rebecca Thompson (Robert) of Humboldt, TN, Susan Willis of Trenton, TN, Sarah King of Medina, TN, Jerry Parker (Elaine) of Ripley, TN, Teresa Cole (John); and brother-in-law: Rodger Jowers of Jackson, TN. Several nieces and nephews who adored their “Uncle Buddy” also survive.
A celebration of life for Robert E. Parker was conducted at Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019 with Jeff Vanlandingham officiating. Graveside services and interment were held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Humboldt, TN. The family requests memorials be made to: First Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg Building Fund, 2100 Springer Road, Lawrenceburg, TN  38464 or Hospice Compassus, 726 North Locust Avenue, 2nd Floor, Suite B, Lawrenceburg, TN  38464. Condolences may be sent by way of:
