Jan Benson Davis, age 48, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at NHC Healthcare of Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN.
She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, and a dedicated teacher for the Lawrence County School System for 25 years, teaching at Summertown High School and Ethridge Elementary School. She was the 2016 Teacher of the Year for Lawrence Co. School System and 2015-16 Teacher of the Year for Ethridge Elementary. Teaching and her family were her life.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Bennett and Roxie Benson of Ethridge, TN and David Rigsby of Lawrenceburg, TN; special aunt: Peggy Benson, Ethridge, TN
She is survived by husband: Scott Davis of Lawrenceburg, TN; children: Lindsey Benson Davis and Evan Robert Davis both of Lawrenceburg, TN; her parents: Howard and Ginny (Rigsby) Benson of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandparents: Bill and Dean Boucher of Anniston, AL; sister: Laura Benson Moore of Lawrenceburg, TN; one nephew, Blaine Moore of Lawrenceburg, TN; special aunt: Diane Brewer of Ethridge, TN; special cousins: Amy (Greg) Maguire of Culleoka, TN, Jill (Chuck) Smith of Franklin, TN, and Scott (Lara) Rigsby of Lawrenceburg, TN; and her precious school families at Ethridge Elementary and Summertown High School.
A Celebration of Life for Jan Benson Davis was conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020 with Ben Luna officiating. In lieu of flowers please donate to Ethridge Elementary or Summertown High School – Jan Benson Davis Memorial Fund.
