Andrew Jackson “Buster” Hughes, 94, of Loretto, TN passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at his home.
He was a retired supervisor for Wilson Casket Company and owner of Buster’s Flea Marker in St. Joseph, TN. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII, where he served as a Seaman 1st Class. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post #146. He was the oldest living member of Post #146, having been a member for 74 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Jean Hughes; parents: James David Hughes and Ella Fisher Hughes; brothers: James David “Whacker” Hughes, Dalton “Gopher” Hughes, and Eulas “Buddy” Hughes; and sisters: Telbio (Tebi) Hughes, Rethia Hughes, and Diane Hughes.
Buster is survived by sons: Nicky Hughes (Haley) of Loretto and Ed Hughes (Lisa) of Five Points, TN; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Andrew Jackson “Buster” Hughes were conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Greenhill Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Mike Ayers officiating. Burial followed at Restview Cemetery with full military honors. The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for their love and care. Greenhill Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
