James Kenneth “Ken” Davis
James Kenneth “Ken” Davis, age 80 of Lawrenceburg TN, was born May 18, 1939 and passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at St. Thomas West in Nashville.
He graduated from UT in 1962 with a degree in mechanical engineering and was a retired mechanical engineer and patent agent in Oak Ridge, TN. He was a farmer, contractor and airplane mechanic. He loved to fly and share his love of flying with others. Ken was an accomplished fisherman and fly-tyer. He used his talents and abilities in service to others as an Angel Flight Pilot, flying patients and families with medical needs to hospitals and treatments free of charge. He was also a volunteer worker on building crews in the Southeast U.S. and Mexico. Ken was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, TN.
He is preceded in death by his late wife: Joyce Nell Scribner Davis; and parents: James Siegel and Ruby Marie Davis.
He is survived by his wife: Pat Pettus Davis; children: Scott Davis (Nancy), Mark Davis (Ingrid), Jennifer Beck (Bryan); stepchildren: Kim McClaren (Ron), Kris Francis (Jason); sisters: Sharon Davis Massey, Kathy Davis Lampley, Patty Davis Smith; fourteen grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great -grandchildren.
Funeral services for James Kenneth “Ken” Davis were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Chapel with Bro. Reggie Coleman officiating. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia, TN. Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. Condolences may be sent by way of: www.pettusturnbo.com.
