Mabel Virginia Yocom McDowell, age 86, passed away in her home in Decherd, TN, on Monday, May 11, 2020.
She was born on February 28, 1934, in Lawrenceburg, TN to her late parents: Martin and Effie Evans. She graduated from the Vanderbilt School of Nursing and spent the duration of her career working as an LPN. She was of the Christian faith, attending both Baptist and Methodist Churches throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her first husband: Gene Austin Yocom; and her second husband: John McDowell.
She is survived by her son: Timothy Yocom. Of his mother, Tim expressed, “There is not a day that she didn’t bring me some piece of happiness.”
