Hawthorne Hampton Hurst
Mr. Hawthorne Hampton Hurst was born April 3, 1931 in Masseyville, TN, the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Hurst and Sally Ethel Pearl Rowland.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Ramona Smith on December 23, 1951. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy and served for 54 years as a Baptist minister, ministering to countless people. Mr. Hurst departed from this life to his eternal reward on September 26, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN at the age of 89 years, 5 months, 23 days.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother: Dr. Fieldon Marion Hurst; sister: Virginia Dare Snodgrass; and grandchild: Vivian Faith Sadler;
He is survived by his wife: Barbara Ramona Hurst of Waynesboro, TN; daughter, Ramona Daire Hurst Sadler and husband Thor Paul of Williamsburg, VA; three grandchildren: Val-Kyria Minuette Sadler, Tara Grace Sadler, Tyrus Odin Hurst Sadler;
Funeral services for Hawthorne Hampton Hurst were held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro with Keith Cagle officiating. Burial followed at Crump First Baptist Church Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro was in charge of all arrangements.
