Annette Drake Dooley
Annette Drake Dooley, 81, of Signal Mountain, TN died peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
Since 1969, Annette and her husband, Buz, raised their family on Signal Mountain, TN. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, orchestrating spectacular coffee hours, volunteering in the church office and was a member of the Altar Guild where she would express her unique talents. Over the years, she worked in banking administration for the Town of Walden and was probably one of the first wedding coordinators in the area. She was a long-time member of the Signal Mountain Garden Club and Signal Mountain Golf & Country Club. She is cherished by many. Never met a stranger and served others with deep compassion. Annette always made whoever she talked with feel like they were the most important person in the room. She loved to host and entertain to the delight of all.
Annette was preceded in death by her husband: Charles W. (Buz) Dooley; her parents: Loretta Goodman and William F. Drake, Sr.; and sisters: Maxine K. Drake and Murlene Sides.
She is survived by her brother: Bill (Ann) Drake; her children: Doug (Julia) Dooley and Anne Elizabeth (Bill) McGowin; four grandchildren: McLain Dooley (Robert )Maclellan, Shelby Dooley, Drake McGowin and Margaret McGowin; and two precious great-granddaughters: Mary Charles Maclellan and Margot Maclellan. Her grace, warmth and love will be missed.
Due to pandemic restrictions, a private family service for Annette Drake Dooley will be held at a time to be determined. We are grateful for the loving care provided by caregivers, the team at Thrive at Brow Wood and Tapestry Hospice.
