Mary Anne Doster of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away at her home on October 30, 2020.
She was born in Birmingham, AL on May 29, 1930. Anne graduated from Ensley High School and attended business school in Birmingham. She had been employed as an accounts payable clerk part-time when her children were in school. She was a member of First Baptist Church Lawrenceburg. She was an avid golfer and won many tournaments. She had a passion for exercise and maintained that even in her later years. She enjoyed holidays, especially decorating her house for every holiday. She enjoyed entertaining her friends in her book club and ladies’ golf group, as well as hosting family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Herman Davis, Sr.; and husband: Harold Wallace Doster, Sr.; her parents: David Leo Whitfield and Jessie Holley Whitfield; brothers: Robert Whitfield and William Joseph Whitfield, Sr.; son: Richard Herman Davis, Jr.; and stepson: Harold Wallace Doster, Jr.
She is survived by daughter: Pattie (Steve) Davis Clevenger of Ethridge, TN; son: David (Cindy) Davis of Snellville, GA; daughter-in-law: Lucille Doster of Mooresville, NC; grandsons: Thomas (Jessica) Clevenger of Nashville, TN, Matthew (Melissa) Clevenger of Gainesboro, Jay (Amanda) Davis of Decatur, GA, and Jack Davis of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter: Marsha (Josh) Kennedy of Lawrenceville, GA; and four great-grandchildren.
A private family burial was held for Mary Anne Doster at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Vanlandingham officiating. Neal Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. Condolences may be sent by way of: www.nealfuneralhome.net.
