Della Dell Higgins Christian, age 84, a McMinnville, TN resident and Rusk, TX native, was born February 2, 1936 and died December 16, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a sudden illness.
She was a homemaker, a member of McMinnville Church of God, and the daughter of the late Claude and Gertie Mae Starkey Higgins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband: Robert Marion Christian, Sr.; two sons: Samuel Glenn and Johnny Earl Christian; four sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by six sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie Christian (Pam) and Donald Christian (Karen) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Alton Christian , Robert “Bobby” Marion Christian, Jr., and Frank Southard (Michelle), all of McMinnville, TN, and Nolan Campbell (Darla) of Rock Island, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law: Connie Taylor (Philip) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Angie Martin (Floyd) of McMinnville, TN; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and sister: Pauline Love of Mesquite, TX.
Funeral services for Della Dell Higgins Christian will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at High’s Chapel with Jeff Page and Dan Huddleston officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at High’s. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Unity Cemetery located at 261 Piney Rd. in Lawrenceburg, TN. Friends are to meet at Unity Church located across from cemetery.
