Evelyn Simmons Hunt, age 80, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, at NHC Healthcare of Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN.
She was a native of Moscow, TN, retired teacher from the Lawrence County School System, a recipient of the Ethel Young Benson Award, and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg where she was a Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Guy and Mildred Dilliard Simmons.
She is survived by her husband: Bob Hunt of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons: Bobby L. Hunt, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN and Robert C. Hunt of Germantown, TN; one brother: Barry Simmons of Paris, TN; three sisters: Anita Mallette of Florence, AL, Judy Simmons of Ooltewah, TN, and Donna Hickman of Bonne Terre, MO; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services for Evelyn Simmons Hunt were conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 with Jeff Vanlandingham officiating. Interment followed at Restview Cemetery in Loretto, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg Building Fund or the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home. Neal Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
