Mary Jean McCord, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at her residence.
She was a native of Wayne County, TN, a homemaker, a farmer and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.  She was also a hero, dedicated mother and grandmother, and was loved very much by the folks in her community.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Kermit and Lillian Jeter Gower; her husband: Virgil McCord; and three brothers: Jimmy Gower, Rex Gower, and Ralph Gower.
She is survived by two daughters: Sherry Brown and Donna Garner (Robert); two sons: Randy McCord and Mike McCord (Bernita); one sister: Frances Long, all of Lawrenceburg, TN; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and interment for Mary Jean McCord were conducted at Macedonia Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 with Matt McCord officiating. Neal Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. Condolences may be sent by way of: www.nealfuneralhome.net.
