Dora J. Dawson LaCroix Barr, age 89, died Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Born May 16, 1932 in Giles County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Emmett Dawson and the late Vema Trice Dawson. At the age of 9, her family moved to Columbia. She was a 1951 graduate of Columbia Central High School. On March 8, 1952, she married Richard H. LaCroix who preceded her in death on February 9, 1988. On March 4, 1999, she married Ralph Barr who preceded her in death on June 5, 2014. Mrs. Barr was a member of West End Church of Christ in Bowling Green, KY and attended Highland Church of Christ and College Place Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son: Richard Steven LaCroix on January 27, 1971; and a much loved aunt: Ara Trice.
Survivors include her daughter: Julie (Dwight) Boswell of Culleoka, TN; step-son: Gerald (Stephanie) Barr of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren: Garrett Willis Barr, Lillian Claire Barr, Adam Boswell, Ashley Boswell; and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dora J. Dawson LaCroix Barr were conducted Friday, September 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Mike Thomas and Gerald Barr officiating.
