Elton L. Powell, 90, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 13, 1941 in Lawrenceburg, TN, the son of James and Bertha Lee (Glass) Powell. Elton proudly served in the United State Marine Corp as an ammunitions runner during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of ERC Installers with his brother Chuck for 20 years. Elton enjoyed politics, fishing, and sports, including the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and The Green Bay Packers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years: Corena; four brothers: Thomas Chester, JC, his twin brother Delton, and Chuck; three sisters: Clara Newton, Inez, Velma; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He is survived by a daughter Angela (Jeff) Powell-Berger; brother: Billy Joe; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Elton L. Powell were held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Dieterle Memorial Home in Montgomery, IL. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery, IL.
