Raymond “Perk” Ray, age 89, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his residence.
He retired from Union Carbide after 30 years of dedicated service. He was known for his servant’s heart. In his spare time, he loved to fish, work outdoors and spend time with his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Herman and Ida Blair Ray; son: Bobby Ray; brothers: Herman Blair Ray and Barry Allen Ray; sister: Minnie Jo Ray.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia Ann Burdine Ray; son; Allen Ray (Wendy); brothers: Jim Ray and Charlie Dean Ray; grandchildren: Jake Ray, Sarah Warnick (Evan), Blake Ray, and Brandie Massey; great-grandchildren: Kamden Ray, Kolby Ray, Nolan Warnick; and several nephews.
A graveside service and burial for Raymond “Perk” Ray was held at Mimosa Cemetery on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Vanderbilt Heart Center.
