Geneva Elkins, age 95, of St. Joseph, TN passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022 at NHC Healthcare Lawrenceburg following an extended illness.
Known as “Granny” to a lot of kids, and known for her chocolate gravy and homemade biscuits, she was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a retired seamstress from M-Fine, and a member of Fairview First Congregational Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Bessie Slater Sandy; son and daughter-in-law: Royce and Mildred Elkins; brother: William Leo “Red” Sandy.
Survivors include her son: Doyce Elkins of St. Joseph, TN; brother: Owen “Cotton” Sandy of Loretto, TN; granddaughter: Emmy Kress (Ryan) of Loretto, TN; and great-granddaughters: Kalli and Louci Kress.
Funeral services for Geneva Elkins were conducted at Loretto Memorial Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022 with Billy Beal officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery.
