Barbara Ann Gobbell McGee

Barbara Ann Gobbell McGee
Barbara Ann Gobbell McGee, age 85, of Lawrenceburg, TN, departed this life on Monday, June 27, 2022 at home with her loving family by her side.
She was a retired nurse from Scott Memorial Hospital and Murray Ohio Dispensary and was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
Barbara was known for her friendly nature and never met a stranger. To know her was to love her. She was known by many for her nursing skills. She was one of those good ole fashioned nurses who possibly helped deliver half the babies in Lawrence County. She loved nursing, but her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was only 24 years old when she was left a widow with five children under the age of seven. Without a doubt, God had his hand on her family. She loved her church and loved a good ole gospel singing. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her, but leaves behind a great legacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Clara Clayton Gobbell; husbands: Rayford Moore, Jimmy Henson, and John McGee; infant daughter: Frances Diane Henson; beloved grandson: Josh Cox; brothers: Roy Crews, Barney Gobbell, Alton Gobbell, and Donald Gene Gobbell; and sisters: Ann Benson, Myrtle Whipple, Freddie Shirley, and Blanche Moore.
She is survived by her children: Pat Gillespie (David), Ray Moore (Linda), Ronnie Moore (Patti), Cindy Wright (Ronnie), and Becky Wilburn (Gary) all of Lawrenceburg, TN; two step-daughters: JoAnn Moore Whetsel and Carol McGee Ray (Joey); eight grandchildren: Duke Snider, Jennifer Gillespie Littleton (Lance), Todd Snider (Jill), Adam Moore (Selina), Jon Wilburn (Wendy), Jill Wilburn Luby (Ben), Lindsey Moore Estes (Chase), and Alison Moore Cunningham (Mark); three step-grandchildren: Nick Whetsel, Lisa Trotogot, and Austin Nash (Chloe); twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Barbara Ann Gobbell McGee were conducted at Mars Hill Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022 with Mickey Brackin and Jeff Overton officiating. Interment followed at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. Neal Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. Condolences may be sent by way of: www.nealfuneralhome.net.
