Jimmy Clayton Gowen, age 85, of Leoma, TN passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at home after an extended illness.
He was a native of Limestone County, AL, a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War, retired from Kroger, and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Sandra Sue Gowen; and brothers: Charles Gowen, A.D. Gowen, and Willard Gowen.
He is survived by his sons: Rocky Springer of Leoma, TN, Chris Gowen (Kim) of Bowling Green, KY, and Rick Gowen and Jerry Gowen (Melina), both of Leoma, TN; daughters: Drenda Brown (Donnie) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Melinda Tidwell (Hoyt II) of Westpoint, TN; sister: Carolyn Jones (Linden) of Five Points, TN; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Jimmy Clayton Gowen were held at Loretto Memorial Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 with Chris Gowen and Hobert Seymore officiating. Burial followed at Centerpoint Baptist Cemetery with military honors at the graveside. Loretto Memorial Chapel was in charge of all arrangements.
