Samuel Adam Passarella, 74, was born July 6, 1948 and passed away in Lexington, SC on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Sam loved to work. He loved a challenge and absorbed himself in his work, which is evident in his work history. After graduation from Christian Brothers College, Memphis, TN in May 1971, Sam had a career as a civil engineer from 1971 until 2018. He worked all over the USA, as well as Saudia Arabia. Projects included the following companies: Blount Construction, Shaw Group,
OPUS South, Beck Group and CBI; and the following projects:
-Hillsborough County Detention Facility; Montgomery, Alabama
-Bexar County Detention Facility; San Antonio, Texas
-King Saud University Project; Riyadh, Saudia Arabia
-US Army Coal Boiler Steam Plant; Saint Louis, Missouri
-Nuclear Plant; Waynesboro, Georgia
-King Bay Naval Base; King Bay, Georgia
-Navy Solar Project(16) in various Florida Naval Bases
-Riverview High School; Riverview, Florida
-New Teague Middle School; Altamonte Springs, Florida
-Sarasota High School; Sarasota, Florida
-Disney Animal Kingdom, Orlando, Florida
-US Court of Appeal (100 year old structure); San Francisco, California
-Wastewater Treatment Plant; Knoxville, TN
-Class A office for UPS; Alpharetta, Georgia
-Water Treatment Facility; Los Angeles, California
-Naval Intelligence Center; Suitland, Maryland

He was the son of the late Louise Riddle Passarella Brown and Ralph Passarella. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Tommy, Tony, Danny and Nicky.
Mr. Passarella is survived by his daughters: McKenzi Nicole Barnes (Rob) of Tbilisi, Georgia and Alix Alissa Passarella of San Diego, CA; son, Brock Adam Passarella (Heather Virginia Wilhem) of San Diego, CA; significant other, Linda Boan of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Bennett, Spencer and August of Tbilisi, Georgia; sisters, Desda Passarella Hutchins (Jim) of Leoma, TN and Tanya Passarella Sandy (John) of Collierville, TN, sisters-in-law, Jennie Waters Passarella (Greenhill, AL), Mary Beth Fredebeil Passarella (Florence, AL), Anita Hemby Passarella (Franklin, TN), and Connie Henkel Passarella (Loretto, TN); aunt, Virginia Blanche Riddle Etienne of Loretto, TN and uncle, Mike Cestaro of Wading River, NY and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Samuel Adam Passarella will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or Loretto Lift-Up. He leaves behind an amazing legacy of work and was an amazing dad and grandfather to his three children and three grandsons!
