With broken hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Carolyn Diane Evans, age 76, of Lawrenceburg, TN, on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Born March 8, 1947, she was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County. She was a beloved wife to Lanny for 58 years, mother, and “Granny” to her grandkids and great-grandkids. For 25 years Lanny and Carolyn operated Sunny Lane Dairy on their farm. Carolyn loved Jesus and was a lifelong member of Deerfield Baptist Church. She lived her testimony each and every day. To know her was to love her, and if you knew her you became a better person for that. She enjoyed volleyball, basketball, playing cards, putting puzzles together, and line dancing. As we celebrate Carolyn’s life, we are reminded of the legacy she leaves behind, her love for her family, her sisters, her extended family, and her church family. That legacy will continue for generations to follow.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Lucille Killen Snider; three brothers: Roy Snider, Jimmy Snider, and Wayne Snider; and three sisters: Betty Hardiman, Dean Dowdy, and Dorothy Snider.
She is survived by her husband: Lanny Evans; two sons: Lanny Wayne Evans (Pam) and Marty Evans (Rhonda); one daughter: Amanda Rochelle (Corey), all of Lawrenceburg, TN; four sisters: Linda King, Bonnie Brazier, Brenda Bailey, and Jo Lopp Shannon, all of Lawrenceburg, TN; seven grandkids: Paige Caperton (Trent) of Summertown, TN, Mashea Duke (Jase) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Ashley Sutherland (Christopher) of Loretto, TN, Lindsay Gowen (Matt) of Leoma, TN, Meghan Wood (Dylan) of Columbia, TN, Emma Rochelle of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Bryer Evans of Lawrenceburg, TN; and was deeply loved by her eight great-grandkids.
Funeral services for Carolyn Diane Evans were conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, with Tony Gordy officiating. Interment followed at Deerfield Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Deerfield Baptist Church. Condolences may be offered by way of: www.nealfuneralhome.net.
