Nelson Mitchell “Butch” Thompson, Jr., age 80, of Lawrenceburg, TN died Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Lawrenceburg.
He was born June 30, 1943 in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a graduate of L.C.H.S., enjoyed traveling, music and good food.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Maurine Gowen Thompson; father: Mitch Thompson; step-mother: Dell Thompson; step-sister: Delores “Dee” Young Barnett; grandparents: Edgar and Gertie Thompson, and Odie and Lillie Gowen.
He is survived by his sister: Patricia “Pat” Thompson Byrd (Jamie) of Pulaski, TN; one nephew: Mitch Byrd of Florence, AL; and special friends: Lanny Hurst, Dan Pinckley and Priscilla Smith
A memorial service for Nelson Mitchell “Butch” Thompson, Jr., will be held at a later date.
